Last week our staff took part in a Staff Faith Retreat. Staff spent two days off site from Sacred Heart with the aim of taking time out to build their personal relationship with Jesus and with one another as a staff group. As staff members in a Catholic school, it is vital for us all to continue to build our own personal relationship with Jesus. Only through our own relationship and faith journey can we then share with the children in our care about the person of Jesus and how he shows love for us all.

Day One of the Staff Retreat was spent at St Josephs School in Northam who very generously offered us use of their Performing Arts Centre for the day. Father Daniel Boyd had organised Dr Pina Ford from Catholic Education Western Australia to come and speak with us about who Jesus is in relation to the Gospels, as well as Jesus as the Good Shepherd. It was an informative day with time given to us for reflection and contemplation. Our modern lifestyles and busyness often get in the way of taking time out to see the beauty around us. It was nice to stop and think deeply.

Day Two was spent at New Norcia on a beautiful Friday morning. Father Daniel led staff in Mass at St Ildephonsus College in the Boys Chapel. After some morning tea and a tour of the townsite, staff joined the Monks who live at New Norcia in prayer. It was a very spiritual experience being able to join theMonks in silent prayer.
