Part-Time - Fixed Term - Catholic Education Western Australia
Sacred Heart Catholic School in Goomalling is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Music Teacher to join our vibrant school community in 2026. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about nurturing students’ creativity, confidence, and love for music through purposeful, engaging lessons.
About the Role
The successful applicant will:
• Teach classroom music from Kindergarten to Year Six.
• Deliver a dynamic and sequential music program aligned with the WA Curriculum.
• Foster creativity, performance skills, and musical appreciation in students of all ages.
• Support school liturgical celebrations, assemblies, and community events.
• Contribute positively to the warm, inclusive culture of our Catholic school community.
Selection Criteria
Applicants are asked to address the following criteria in their application:
1. Practicing Catholic who is committed to the ethos and mission of Catholic Education.
2. Musically proficient, with the ability to play a variety of instruments and model high quality music practice.
3. Sound understanding of the Western Australian Music Curriculum, including planning, assessment, and differentiated learning.
4. Experience in Performing Arts, with the ability to support school events, performances, and liturgical celebrations.
Essential Requirements:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
Desirable:
• Leading small ensembles, or student performances.
• Ability to integrate technology into music learning.
Qualifications Required
• Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school (or willingness to obtain).
• Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA.
• A current Working with Children Check.
