Sacred Heart Catholic School in Goomalling encourages applications from a passionate, collaborative, enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our dedicated and professional team.

We are seeking applications for an Early Years Teacher to commence in Term One 2024, and are calling for applications for those interested in working in either a part time or full time capacity.

Sacred Heart Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic school catering for children from Three Year Old Kindergarten to Year Six. The school has a strong sense of tradition and community, along with committed and enthusiastic staff, who work closely together to provide a supportive teaching and learning environment.

The school motto of 'Witness The Truth' is lived daily by the children and staff at the school. The community gains inspiration from the person of Nano Nagle and her desire to help the most vulnerable. In 2022, the school implemented the Walker Learning Approach in the Early Years which provides opportunities for play and inquiry in the Early Years setting. Sacred Heart Catholic School Goomalling is located 130km North East of Perth and 40km from Northam. The town has its own hospital, doctor and dentist and excellent sporting facilities with a swimming pool, tennis courts, lawn bowls, golf course, gymnasium, oval and sporting complex.

Selection Criteria:
We are seeking a highly motivated teacher with a desire to be a part of a dynamic teaching and learning community.

Applications are invited from teachers who can demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Are positive, enthusiastic, work collaboratively and have a sense of humour
  • Promotes and enhances the partnership between school and home, and acknowledges parents as the first educators of their children
  • Delivers a quality learning program that provides a balance between elements of play based learning and explicit teaching
  • Differentiates the teaching and learning program to cater for individual differences. Experience teaching in a multi age grouping (MAG) context is desirable but not necessary
  • Engage with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards as part of quality Early Years practice
  • Has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates the capacity and enthusiasm to build positive and constructive relationships with children, staff and parents.

Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant four year tertiary qualification & current TRBWA registration
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education, or the ability to achieve Accreditation to Teach Religious Education
